Harry Schermer, age 67, died Sunday, January 30, 2011 under the care of Odyssey Hospice in Gulfport, MS, after a battle with cancer.
Mr. Schermer was a 4 year veteran of the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Dick Schermer, brother-in-law, Larry Zolman and his parents, Gerry and Ella Schermer, all of Zeeland, Michigan.
Survivors include his sisters, Alma Rogalsky of Safety Harbor, Florida and Jane Zolman of Jenison, Michigan; his sister-in-law, Carol Schermer of Zeeland, Michigan; and his nieces, nephews and other family members.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4 until 6 p.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport. Additional funeral services will be held at Yntema Funeral Home and burial in Vriesland Cemetery in Zeeland, Michigan.
