Harry W. Mason

Harry W. Mason, Sr. age 87, of Gulfport, passed away on February 28, 2011, in Gulfport.
Mr. Mason was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in WWII. He was a member of Company A 2nd Armored Division-Hell on Wheels. He served in campaigns of North Africa, Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France, Sicily, and Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of Gulf Coast Worship Center, Grand Lodge of MS, F & A.M, Lodge 422, and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2539. He was also a member of Sam Davis Camp 596, Sons of Confederate Veterans. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years.
Mr. Mason was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence P. Mason and Katie Mason; his sister, Earline Thomas; and her brothers, Willie Mason and Vardaman Mason.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Susie Estelle Mason, a son, Harry Wallace Mason, Jr and his wife Mary; two grandsons, David K. Mason and his wife Tina, and Adam P. Mason, all of Gulfport; and four great-grandchildren, Bethany Mason, Hannah Mason, Samuel Mason, and Alexander Mason.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at 11:00 AM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial with military honors will follow at Coalville Cemetery.
