Harold Robert Spitchley, 87, of Long Beach died Tuesday, February 28, 2006 in Gulfport.
Mr. Spitchley was a native of Hazlehurst, MS and lived in Long Beach since 1961. He owned and operated Rocket Pest Control for 42 years and managed Orkin prior to opening Rocket. He was also the owner of H&D Leasing. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Long Beach, Pearl Masonic Lodge #23, Joppa Shrine Temple, enjoyed golf, riding his golf cart, fishing, restoring boats and """"piddeling"""" with any and everything.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Joyce Spitchley; parents, Dewitt D. and Sarah Ellise Spitchley; a sister, Dorothy Wright; and a brother, Wilton Spitchley.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law: Drenda and Joel Holifield, Long Beach; 4 grandchildren: Tracey Logan, Dina Cook, Patrick Holifield, and Jeffrey Holifield; 1 great-grandson: Brady Logan; Special Friends, Pat Frederick and Martha Williams; 2 brothers: Roy Spitchley, Palestine, TX and Pat Spitchley, Hazlehurst, MS.
""""Granddaddy"""" will be greatly missed by his family and friends and all who knew him.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 2, 2006 from 6 - 8 pm at First United Methodist Church, Long Beach. The funeral service will be at 11 am Friday in the church sanctuary.
Interment will be in Evergreen Gardens Cemetery.
