Harold Walker Sconiers, age 82, died April 3, 2012 at his home in Biloxi, MS.
He was a graduate of Biloxi High School and Mississippi College. A member of the American Society of Quality and a Certified Quality Engineer, he was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad as a telegrapher and train dispatcher. He worked for the Department of Defense (DOD) Defense Logistic Agency for 25 years, and finished his career as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Longhorn Ammo Plant in Marshall, TX. After his career as a Quality Control Specialist, he was employed with the Harrison County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Sheriff. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and attended New Life Family Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walker and Annabelle King Sconiers of Biloxi and De Funiak Springs, FL.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty Sherrell Sconiers; a son Wayne Sconiers, both of Biloxi; daughter and son-in-law Sheryl and Michael Psaila; and grandchildren Stacey Psaila Hicks and husband Jimmy Hicks, Brandy Psaila and Jonathan Psaila, all of Baton Rouge; great-grandchild Parker Hicks of Baton Rouge; and brother Lloyd Sconiers of Hendersonville, TN.
A Funeral Service conducted by the Reverend Walter Davis and Reverend Pete Meakins will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2012 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi, where friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow in Southern Memorial Park.
