Our beautiful daughter, Hannah Elizabeth Rewis, was called to her Heavenly home on December 9, 2024, after her courageous battle at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. In the prime of her life at 30 years old, she leaves behind an absolutely shattered family, who are distraught and tear-stained versions of their former selves. Hannah didn't have a bad side. She was never heard to utter disparaging or hurtful remarks about anyone. She was kind, witty, artistic, and loved by all. She is especially remembered for having a generous heart and being gentle with all creatures.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother and father, Virginia and Michael Rewis; sister, Amber Rewis; two brothers, Michael and Noah Rewis; grandfather, Bob Usey; and sister-in-law, Kari Rewis. She also leaves behind numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lt. Col John Rewis, Della Rewis, and Sandy Usey.
Hannah was known to enjoy raising quail and finches with her mother, baking, gardening, and taking care of her pet cats, Steel and Thor. She was also fond of being outdoors and cycling. Revealing to her intrepid nature, Hannah had begun planning to hike the Appalachian trail and one day dreamed of making this a reality.
As a glimpse into Hannah's gentle soul, during her hospitalization and treatments, she would recognize the telling impact in the faces of her loved ones and reassuringly say, “Mom, Dad, it's gonna’ be alright.”
Hannah’s soul will be forever missed and remembered by those who were blessed enough to know her. We hope to gain strength from the example Hannah exemplified. May God bless Hannah’s soul, welcoming her into his arms, forever to be loved and protected by Him.
The family would like to thank Memorial Hospital in Gulfport and University of Mississippi Medical Center for their valiant effort to help our Hannah.
