Gwen R. Jordan, 87, of Biloxi, died Friday, August 6, 2010, in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Mrs. Jordan was a native of McCall Creek, Franklin County, MS. She retired from Biloxi Public Schools in 1985, after teaching elementary students for over 24 years. She was an active member of Bay Vista Baptist Church, teaching an Adult Ladies Class, and participating in the WMU, the Senior Adults Crusaders' Program, and the Jail Ministry. Mrs. Jordan also volunteered for several years at Gulf Coast Community Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis L. Jordan; parents, Neal P. and Georgia S. Raulins; and one brother, Joe N. Raulins.
Survivors include her daughter, Denice Robbins and husband Mike, of Dumfries, VA; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Robbins of Washington, D.C. and Sean Robbins of Arlington, VA.
Visitation will be Friday, August 13, 2010, from 11:00 a.m. to service time at 12:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
The family requests that donations be made to Bay Vista Baptist Church, 2485 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS 39531.
