.Grace Barrett Satchfield, age 86, lifelong resident of Handsboro, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012.
Mrs. Satchfield was born to John Hamilton and Helen ""Lena"" Katherine Schmitt Barrett. She was a lifelong member of Handsboro Methodist Church, charter member of Handsboro Garden Club, member of the South MS Chapter of the MS Archaeology Assoc., and member of the Handsboro Historical Society. She loved nature and spent many hours teaching others and preserving history.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Hermine ""Mimi"" Barrett Streiff.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles H. Satchfield of Handsboro; daughter, Catherine Satchfield Burgess, and her busband Phillip of Chattanooga, TN; nieces and nephews, Michel Streiff, Teresa Streiff Thompson, Jean Streiff, and John Streiff.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS from 12 o'clock Noon until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Humane Society of South MS at www.hssm.org.
