Grace Phillips

Grace Elizabeth Bowman Phillips, 83, of Long Beach, MS passed away on January 22, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, MS. A private graveside ceremony will be held on February 8, 2021 at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS.

Grace was born in Fair Haven Township, MI on July 17, 1937 to the late Henry Philip Bowman and Nellie Rita Deming Bowman. Grace was an extremely outgoing person and was willing to do anything she could to help her family and friends. She loved to bowl and be outside planting flowers in her yard. She loved all of her family, but she especially doted on her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Grace is preceded in death by her father Henry Philip Bowman; mother Nellie Rita Deming Bowman; brother Neil Bowman; brother Stephen Bowman; brother Bruce Bowman; and sister Julia Sanchez.

Grace is survived by her husband John Phillips of Long Beach, MS: three sisters Eva Spencer of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Inez Gehman of Harrisonburg, VA and Ruth Ward of Flint, MI; a brother Wayne Bowman of Flint, MI: a son James Phillips (Melissa) of Gulfport, MS: a daughter Dixie Harrison (Joseph) of Pass Christian, MS: and a stepson William Phillips(Karen) of Brent, AL; five grandchildren Jessica Schinn (Steven), Christopher Phillips (Cassie), Cheyanne Harrison, Amanda Harrison and Alexis Harrison; and three great grandchildren Anna Schinn, Aidan Phillips and Damien Jackson

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 8, 2021, at Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi.  RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, is serving the family.
