Grace Musmeci Mauterer, age 97, of Diamondhead, MS passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 7, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin A. Mauterer Jr. and is survived by her son Edwin A. III, and his wife, Therese Mauterer. She is loved and survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Grace was the daughter of the late Philip Musmeci Sr. and Angele’ Minor Musmeci. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Philip Musmeci Jr.
Grace was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Diamondhead MS for the last 41 years. During her career she worked for Bell Telephone Company, the Fuller Brush Company, and First National Mortgage Company. She also volunteered as a cafeteria server at Holy Cross High School in New Orleans. While living in New Orleans she participated in Mardi Gras with the Krewe of Venus, the Confused Couples Carnival Club, and the Jolly Jacks Carnival and Social Club. After retiring and moving to Diamondhead, she enjoyed playing golf. She was a member of the Diamondhead Women’s Golf Association, the Bayou Belles, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Seniors. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. Grace enjoyed traveling and cruising with her family and friends. She crocheted numerous baby blankets for expectant mothers donated through The Marine Corps league.

Funeral arrangements are as follow: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm, Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Friends and family may visit from 12 – 1 pm. A reception celebrating her life will be held in the parish hall following the mass. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 10 am in the in Biloxi National Cemetery.
