Grace Heffington passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023, at the age of 100 years old. She lived her life as a strong Christian woman, and left this life peacefully with her steadfast faith in God.
Grace was born in Oklahoma City, on March 2, 1922, and there she became a wife and mother. She moved with her daughter to the coast in 2006, where she lived out the remainder of her life. In her younger days, she loved cooking for her family, especially on special occasions. Grace was also known for her dry wit and most people thought she was very funny. She enjoyed writing poetry, songs and Bible Stories.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Hattie Stockwell; her first husband, William Flinchum and her second husband, Eugene Heffington.
Grace is survived by her only child, her loving daughter, Carole Mize; (four grandchildren), Mike McGehee, Leslie Dedeaux, Casey McGehee and Patrick McGehee; (five great grandchildren), Crystal Hayes, Amber Naramore, Kellie McGehee, Brandon McGehee, Ethan McGehee; (four great-great grandchildren), Kabe Hayes, Dominique Hayes, Whitley Hesler, Carmine Hesler; and (one great-great-great grandchild), Violet Jade.
We would like to express our great appreciation to all the wonderful nurses at the Ocean Springs Hospital, and to Mike and Stephanie with The Hospice of Light for their thoughtfulness and caring ways shown daily to Mom and family.
