Gordie was born in Pennsylvania to Clair and Evelyn Anthony, where he grew up with his brothers and sister, Larry, Wayne, and Elaine. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a cannoneer. He moved to California then he retired in Mississippi. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved the warm Mississippi climate and southern hospitality. He was an asset to his community. He worked hard keeping his neighborhood and his Church grounds clean. He always looked to help others. He could be seen walking his little dog and best friend Abby, come rain or shine, stopping from time to time to chit chat with neighbors along the way. He liked Country music. He enjoyed NASCAR, puzzles, hunting, and fishing. Feeding and watching birds brought him pleasure. He had a wonderful smile, a great sense of humor and a big heart.
