Gloria Ann (Schneider) Gaines, of Biloxi, MS, passed away on December 28th 2021.
Born at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Arnold Schneider and sister Elsie Jo Schneider. She is survived by her husband Edward Terry Gaines; Mother Elsie Elizabeth (Hall) Schneider and sister Lorna Mae Mumphrey (Clarence) of Prairieville, LA; daughter Kristie Canzoneri Provins (Michael) of Ocean Springs MS; son Terry Graham Canzoneri (Shannon) of Diamondhead, MS; grandchildren Devyn, Gabriel, and Kathryn Provins; Aubrey, Adalynn, Lilly, Sophie and Brielle Canzoneri; best friend Becky Rutz.
Gloria graduated from Archbishop Chappell in1968 and earned an associate’s degree in Marketing Management from MGCCC (Gautier) with high honors. She later became the owner/operator of Singing River Daycare in Gautier, MS. As an avid folk dancer, accomplished seamstress and clothing designer, Gloria used her sewing and creativity to make many folk dance outfits and support many local theater productions with KNS (Saenger theater in Biloxi), Gulfport Little Theater, Center Stage Theater, Walter Anderson Players, Walter Anderson Theater Project and Broadway South Repository Theater as well as teach sewing at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport and the Mary C. O'Keefe Cultural Arts Center in Ocean Springs with Beck Rutz.
A memorial celebration will be held on February 20, 2022, from 1 pm - 4 pm at the Diamondhead Community Center, 5300 Diamondhead Circle, Diamondhead, MS 39525.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to an organization set at a later date.
