Glenn Arnold Stone

Glenn Arnold Stone, age 90, of Gulfport, passed away on Sunday, March 10th, 2024. He is reunited with his loving wife Mary O’lene Knott Stone of 53 years.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Hazel Stone; his brother, C. H. Stone; his sister, Ethel Smith; his daughter, Glenna Elaine Stone, his great-grandson, Calvin A. Lee; and his good friend, Bobbie Jean Wigley.   

Glenn is survived by four siblings;  Carolyn Donald, Lana Sumerall, Vee Dell (Aubrey) May, and Dale (Harriet) Stone;   his daughters, Bridgett (James) O’Malley of McHenry and Leah Scharf of Gulfport; his grandchildren, Joshua O'Malley of Lizana, Candice (Anthony) Knight of Lizana, Karen (Dennis) Sheehan of Brooklyn and Hannah (Greyson) Dustin of Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren, Logan, Gavin, Sydney Kate (Cade), Taylor, Bailey (Anton), Ethan,  MacKenzie (Jamie), and Sam;  one great-great-grandchild Malley Jane and many nieces and nephews.

He also leaves behind his lifelong friend Peggy Shea Bishop and his good friend Sue Livingston.

Glenn retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service.  

He was an active member of Michael Memorial Baptist Church.  He enjoyed family, history, airplanes, travel and puttering around in his workshop.   As a child, he spent summers on Ship Island where his father was the lighthouse keeper and he continued to visit Ship Island as often as he could.

A memorial service will be held at New Hope Baptist Church on Landon Road Gulfport on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10 AM
