Glen John Parker, age 85, passed away February 8, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ida Parker; his brother, Clyde Parker; his sisters, Gladys Curvin and Betty Moran; nephew Clyde Joseph Parker, Jr; niece, Carol Ladner; and grand-niece, Nicole Ladner.
Glen is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Karen Rudloff Parker; his children, Kristi Christie (Michael), Darrell Ingram (Meghan), Tiffany Wilkinson (Buckley), Lindsay Chacon, and Ivy Parker; his grandchildren, Kaegan Cook (Leslie), Gavin Torjusen, Declen Ingram, Tabitha Chacon, Layla Chacon, Janessa Fillinger, Brandon Christie, Dylan Christie, and Ian Capers; his great-grandchildren, Aaron Bahena and Camilla Bahena; and his God children, Carl Moran, Tabitha Chacon, and Kevin Moran..
He was a native of Delisle and a long time resident of Lizana. He served honorably in the US Army and later earned an associate degree in Business. Glen worked at Swift for 25 years and then opened his own business, Gulf South Food Service, and was a business owner actively working until his death.
Mr. Parker was an active and devoted member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Lizana where he was recognized for his ministry in Project Hope and known for his love and compassion to the church and community. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Wolf River Smoking Team where he loved to BBQ and smoke meat. He also loved a good bonfire while listening to George Jones with an “Old Mil” in hand. His love and legacy will live on until the end of time.
As those of you who knew Glen, you also know what a man of Faith he was. In lieu of flowers, we ask that masses are offered up for his soul.
A visitation will be on Monday, February 14, 2022, from 2 - 3 pm at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 23529 Hwy 53, Gulfport, MS 39503. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3 pm in the church. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery at a later date.
