Glen Howard Boyles, age 70, of Gulfport, MS died July 13, 2007 in Gulfport after battling heart and kidney disease
A native of Kokomo, MS, he moved to the Gulf Coast at a young age where his father served as a mail contractor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eliza Boyles, a Baby son, and a Baby grandson.
Mr. Boyles is survived by his wife, Sylvia Dedeaux Boyles of Gulfport, three sons, James H. Boyles (Susan) of Chula Vista, CA, Wendell Boyles of Saucier, and Joe Boyles (Candy) of Biloxi, a brother, Hertis Boyles (Katie) of Foxworth, MS, six sisters, Rachel May (Walter) of Deltona, FL, Margie Crosby and Bessie Pounds, both of Foxworth, Argie Burnstine of Gulfport, Virginia Nichols of Tylertown, Ms, and Emma Lou Mullens of Kokomo, MS, three grandsons, SPC John Boyles (Brittany) who is serving in Iraq, Nicholas Boyles of Saucier, and Tristan Boyles of Gulfport, two special nephews, Don Alexander and Kenneth Crosby, numerous other relatives, friends, and his post office friends.
Glen attended school in Gulfport where he played football for Lindy Callahan. He joined the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He enjoyed mechanics and getting greasy, even raising three grease monkies and built a race car. He followed in his Dad's footsteps, contracting with the U.S. Mail on the Coast. Glen was of the Baptist faith.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 20, 2007 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at THE RIEMANN FAMILY'S Gulf Coast Funeral Home, 3 Rivers Road Chapel, Gulfport. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Cemetery.
