It is with loving memories the family of Gladys Allene Lovelace announce her passing following a Covid related illness. She was born on April 25, 1925 in Vaughan, MS and passed away on December 26, 2020 at the age of 95.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Lovelace, Sr.; a brother, Harvey Collins, Sr; 2 sisters, Hettie Combs and Louise Caston; a step-son, Charles G. Lovelace, Sr; and a step-daughter, Martha Ann Lovelace.
She is survived by her children: Leo Jr. (Dawn), and L. Dixon Lovelace; her grandchildren: Alan (Bethany), Melissa Muzquiz Flickinger (Geordie), Robert Muzquiz, Charles Jr., Steve, and Rose Mary; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Lovelace was a native of Vaughan, MS and was a longtime resident of Gulfport, MS. She served as a Red Cross volunteer in World War II and had retirements from -Peyton Turner Insurance, MS Vehicle Comptroller’s Office, and MS Forestry Commission. She enjoyed watching children’s sports and school activities, and assisting in church organizations/activities at New Hope Baptist Church.
The family would like to say Thank you to all her friends, Gulfport Care Center and Kare In Home Hospice – especially Tracy.
