Gertie Rogers

Another angel gained her wings. Ms. Gertie Marie Daniels Rogers passed away peacefully at home on August 2, 2021 at the age of 87. She was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast.
She was a member of the Perkinston Baptist Church, a proud homemaker, avid crafter and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Gertie is preceded in death by her husband, Haston Ray Rogers; her parents, Gertis and Sarah Daniels; sister, Mary Ellen Simmons; brothers, Wilbur Lee, Robert Marion, Gerald and Richard Daniels.
She is survived by her children, Nathan Rogers (Kathleen), Charles Rogers (Georgia), and Brenda Coco; her sister, Nora Mae Bell; her four grandchildren; her great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of the staff from Hospice of Light, with a special thank you to our family and friends, Ms. Connie Ely and Ms. Dorina Waltman for taking such loving and tender care of our mom.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation for friends and family one hour prior to service at Perkinston Baptist Church, #12 Church Street in Perksinston, MS. She will be laid to rest next to her loving husband, Haston Ray Rogers in Perkinston Cemetery.
