Geraldine Remel

Mrs. Geraldine """"Gerry"""" Griffin Remel, age 82, resident of Bay St. Louis, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2010.
Mrs. Remel was born in Bastrop, LA to Charles Sampson Griffin and Beatrice Howell Griffin. She was a retired registered nurse, having worked at Hancock Medical Center, Crosby Memorial in Picayune, and Garden Park in Gulfport, as well as several other health care facilities, including home health. She enjoyed collecting antique china. She and her husband, Julius J. Remel, traveled the country, visiting every state except Hawaii. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Lakeshore.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles Griffin.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Julius J. Remel of Bay St. Louis; two sons, Paul Remel of Bay St. Louis and Phillip Remel (Barbara) of Bay St. Louis; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Clermont Harbor, at 11:00 a.m., where friends may visit one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Gulf Coast Memorial Cemetery in Bay St. Louis.
