Gerald W. "Jerry" Favre

Gerald William ""Jerry"" Favre, Sr, age 71, of Long Beach passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, in Long Beach.
Mr. Favre was a lifelong resident of the coast and was a graduate of St. John Catholic School in Gulfport. He owned and operated Jerry's Lawn Mower which is one of the oldest businesses in Long Beach. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Long Beach, and The Knights of Columbus St. Vincent de Paul Council 4898, Long Beach. He was a proud member of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. Jerry had loved his country and served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Denobola. He had a special love for his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Velma Hill Favre, and his sister, Patricia Favre Erickson, and his niece, Barbara Favre.
He met the love of his life at 15 years of age, Conchetta Frances LaRosa Favre, and they were married for 51 years. Other survivors include 3 children, Gerald ""Jerry"" Favre, Jr. and his wife Sandi, John Favre and his wife Holly, and JoMarie Favre LeBlanc and her husband Philip, all of Long Beach, Carl LaRosa and his wife Kimberly, of Pass Christian, 6 grandchildren, Gerald ""Trace"" Favre, III, Mason Favre, Laura Frances ""Franny"" Favre, Salvador ""Sammy"" Favre, Ashton LaRosa, and Abby LaRosa, a brother, Donald Favre, and numerous other relatives and friends that he cherished so much.
Visitation will be Friday, August 4, 2012, from 12 - 2 pm at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 East Beach Blvd., Long Beach, MS 39560. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 pm Friday in the church sanctuary.
Graveside service will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
