Gerald Buchanan

Gerald Wayne Buchanan, 69, of Moss Point, MS, passed away August 26, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Wayne was born January in 1951, in Columbia, MS. He is the son of the late Joseph Buchanan and the late Elizabeth Margie Bond. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Billy Joe Buchanan, and Danny Bruce Buchanan.

Wayne spent many years as a self-employed carpenter. He loved to go fishing, have cook outs with his family, and would try to out eat anyone when it came to crab legs at the casino. Wayne was a loving father to his children, and greatly adored his grandchildren.

Wayne is survived by his son Scottie Wayne Buchanan (Krystle Taylor), and his daughter Angela Nicole “Nicki” Smith (Will). He is also survived by his beloved sister, Barbara Fero.

Wayne had 3 grandchildren, Ryan Overstreet (Jordan Buxton), Chase Overstreet (Tatum), and Chandler Buchanan. He was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first great grandchild to arrive in 2021.

The family would also like to recognize his nephew and spouse, Philip and Laurle Jackson for the outpouring support they showed during a very trying time.

Services will be held privately by the family.
