Gerald """"Jerry"""" Allen, Sr., age 76 and a resident of Long Beach, died on Saturday, July 10, 2010, in Gulfport.
Mr. Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Aaron Allen, Sr. & Alma Bond Allen; his sister, Juanita Hammons; his brothers, Robert M. Allen and H.A. Allen, Jr. and a granddaughter, Alicia McCool.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lyra W. Allen of Long Beach; his daughter, Sheryl Allen and his son, Gerald Allen, Jr. both of Long Beach; his sisters, Norma Jean Collins of Pass Christian, Alice Mae Lewis of Nashville, TN, and Shirley Cuevas of Long Beach; his brother, James Richard (Dianne) Allen of Diamondhead; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010, from 6pm-9pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at 10am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery in Long Beach.
