Georgiana Spillman, age 90, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
Georgiana was proud to have been born and raised in Washington DC and considered herself a Southerner. She was the first member of her family to earn her college degree. She earned a BS at Mary Washington College in Home Economics while it was still an all-girl school. She then worked in many different jobs. She met her husband of 60 years, David, while teaching at Bladensburg Junior High. She taught Home Ec and he taught History. (If hyphenated names had been popular then she would have been Mrs. Spillman-Stillman.) She also worked for the power company, at Woodies, for the FBI, and as an historical tour director. Her interests and hobbies were as varied as her work: traveling, genealogy, basketball, football, playing Bridge, gardens (garden-ing was her husband's hobby), new recipes... Her lifetime love was sewing and after retirement she made dozens of quilts.
She was loved and will be missed by her children, Matthew Stillman (Cheryl), Greg Stillman, Georgiana Hoover (Sean); and six grandchildren, Josh, Caleb, Zach, Sam, Olivia and Isaiah; and two great grandchildren, Evan and Maisie.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd., Pass Christian served the family.
