Georgenia Carlson, age 99, of Pass Christian, passed away on July 13, 2009, in Pass Christian.
She was born in Chillicothe, Missouri. She retired from the Kansas City Board of Election Commissioners where she was a supervisor of the Fiscal Department and moved first to Melbourne, Florida, and then to Pass Christian, MS, where she attended the First United Methodist Church of Long Beach. In Kansas City, she was an active member of Unity School of Practical Christianity and worked with their youth group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Alan Carlson, Sr; her parents, Martin and Verona Flory; her son, Donald Alan Carlson, Jr; her brothers, Daniel and Wilbur Flory; her sisters, Cleo Froelich, Esther Johnson, Mary Potts, Agnes Pearson, Inez Thogmartin, and Elizabeth Sawtell; and her son in law, Marvin Cuevas, Sr.
She is survived by her daughter, Claudia Cuevas of Pass Christian; her grandchildren, Marvin (Angela) Cuevas, Jr of Pass Christian, Pamela Cuevas (Shane) McCulley of Crenshaw, MS, Dawn Marie Carlson (Brian) Carroll of Moreno Valley, CA, Donald (Christine) Carlson, III of Lexington, TN, David Carlson of Melborne, FL, Douglas (Debra) Carlson of Orlando, FL; seven great grandchildren; her sister, Ina Harvey of Rolla, MO; and her daughter in law, Mary Carlson Cleaver of Melborne, FL.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 18, 2009, at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach, where family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until service time.
