George Ware

George Lee Ware, born July 29, 1920, in Gulfport, MS, died December 4, 2007 at Gulfport Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Ware was a decorated disabled veteran of World War II, a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps. He served in England and Europe and participated in the invasion of Normandy and was injured during the blitz in London when a V-2 rocket landed near his Jeep. He was a lifetime member of the Joe Graham American Legion Post 119 with 53 years in good standing. Mr. Ware enjoyed bowling, darts, horseshoes and spending time at his property in Biloxi River Estates. He retired after over 30 years from the Civil Service with the Department of the Air Force at Keesler Air Force Base.
Mr. Ware was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Virginia M. Ware; his mother, Laura Smyly Ware; his father, Norman Biddix; his sisters, Lucille Hanson and Norma Castings; his brothers, Howard, Presley and Raymond.
He is survived by his daughter, Lauralee Easterling and her husband, Benny Roy; his grandson, David J. Easterling; his granddaughter, Julie R. Loftin and her husband, Taylor; his sisters, Emily Herrington and Lillian White; his great-grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Andrew, Joey, Benjamin and Madison; and numerous nephews and nieces.
There will be a graveside service Friday, December 7, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
