George William Tynes, III, age 81, of Kill Devil Hills, NC, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2012, in Gulfport.
Mr. Tynes was born in Portsmouth, VA, to George William Tynes, Jr. and Virginia Freund Tynes. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Moyock United Methodist Church in Moyock, NC. While living in Moyock, he was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Ballance Tynes of Kill Devil Hills, NC; children, Norma Lynn Tynes of Elizabeth City, NC, Bonnie Tynes Christie of Lantana, FL, and Sheri Tynes Brown of Ft. Worth, TX; siblings, Betty Lou Stucker of Quincy, IL, and Dorothy Riley of Pungoteague, VA; grandchildren, Sean Christie, Carrilynn Christie, Gordon Brown, and Jackson Brown; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
No services are planned at this time.
