George M. "Buddy" Smith, Jr., age 84, of Gulfport, passed away on April 24, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Dolores Smith; 3 sons, Michael, Kevin (Judy), and Gary; 2 sisters, Jackie Barbare and Betty Powell; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Smith moved to the coast with Southern Airways and later opened his own travel business. He was a past member of the Gulfport Jaycees and was named Jaycee of the year. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and and snow skiing.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 28, 2017, from 9 - 10 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd, Long Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in the church.
