George Oliver Taylor, age 81, of Gulfport, MS, passed away on September 15, 2020.
George was a Native of Bladon Springs, Alabama and went to South Choctaw High School. Mr. Taylor was in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He retired from Dupont in 1999. George was a diehard Alabama fan, loved faming in his garden and tending to his chickens.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillian Mason Taylor; his son, Paul Dewain Johnson, Jr.; his siblings, Bruce Taylor, Annelle Doggett, Virginia Taylor Lassiter, Roselle Watkins, Will Taylor, Bill Taylor, Samuel Taylor, Thelma Higg, Claytis Taylor, T.J. Taylor, Audrey Taylor, Rayford Taylor, Adren Taylor, Doris Taylor, Cecil Taylor, Regina Strickland, and Bruce Taylor.
George is survived by his wife of 36 years, Pamela Glenda Taylor; his children, Lillian Nicole Bryson (Stacey) of Valley, AL, Johnny Johnson (Erika) of Gulfport, MS, and Glen Johnson of Gulfport, MS; his grandchildren, Erin, Reese, and Olivia Bryson of Valley, AL, and John Taylor Johnson of Gulfport, MS; his siste, Betty Towery (Jerry); and his brother, Bobby Towery.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2020 at First Baptist Church, Lyman, 14321 Old Hwy 49, with a visitation starting at 12:00 p.m., until the time of Service. Burial will take place at Biloxi National Cemetery following the service.
