George M. Mason, a dedicated educator and esteemed member of the Gulfport community, passed away on March 9, 2025, at the age of 76.

He was known for his profound knowledge and passion for teaching physics and marine science in the Gulfport schools. His career also included working for the Naval Oceanographic Office and the Stennis Space Center, where he received numerous accolades for outstanding performance. A member of Trinity Methodist Church in Gulfport, George held his faith close to his heart and actively contributed to the community around him. Outside of his professional and community commitments, he found immense joy in hobbies such as fishing, boating, and following football, particularly rooting for Mississippi State and the New Orleans Saints.
