George Baker, age 90, of Diamondhead, MS passed away on March 6, 2023.
George was born in Verdun, Quebec on February 19, 1933. The family moved to Windsor, Ontario soon after. He graduated from W.D. Lowe and then enrolled in a specialty course. Shirley was in the classroom when a knock on the door came. George was told the principal wanted to see him. George never returned to class. A Chrysler Canada representative was in the office and offered George a position with Chrysler and he left the school with the representative and was immediately hired. He was enrolled into the Chrysler Institution. The rest is history. When he retired, he was the National Customers Director. That day in February 1952 was the start of so many wonderful years.
George and Shirley traveled the world together. He was the king of the Krewe of Olympus with his Queen Shirley in 2013. He loved golfing and bowling. George had many new friends in Diamondhead, MS. He enjoyed golf and bowling.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Arthur Baker.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Joyce Baker; his brother, Rev Robert Baker; and many nieces and nephews from all over the world.
Private services will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd., Pass Christian, MS. An online guestbook may be signed, and condolences offered at www.riemannfamily.com.
