G. Austin Dill, III, DMD, 51, of Gulfport passed away the evening of Monday, October 1.
He was born to Bobbie Jones and the late Glen Dill, September 26, 1961, in Clinton, OK. Austin attended Pass Christian High School, Mississippi State University, and the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry. He practiced dentistry in Jackson for many years where he was actively involved in several charitable organizations.
Austin had a wicked sense of humor and a kind heart. He loved baseball, watching movies, golfing, fishing off the pier, his dogs and raiding the refrigerator in the middle of the night. Dr. Dill will always be remembered by his dental patients for his compassion, gentle hand and thoughtfulness.
Austin is survived by his daughters, Jayme Austin (Alex), of Austin, TX, and Rebecca Dill along with their mother and his friend, Pamela Wescovich Dill. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ruby and Elvis Austin; his mother, Bobbie Jones; his sister, Kim Nelson; his aunts and uncles, Karon and Robert Nelson, Dee and Max Grunewald, Don and Molly Dill, Joe and Corky Dill; many cousins and a large extended family; and his loyal dog, Paulie.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 6, at 2 p.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Rd. Gulfport.
