Gary Don Lacy, age 68, of Gulfport, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Annie Lacy; and a brother, Gene Lacy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Beverly Lacy; his children, Guy Lacy (Marla), Ray Lacy (Mandy), Trey Lacy (Elizabeth), and Joey Lacy; 8 grandchildren, Jasmine, Gabriel, Mackenzie, Peyton, Mia Clare, Reese, Riley, and Stone; and other relatives and friends.
He was a lifelong resident of the coast and worked as a foreman at Murphy Electric Company.  He served as a firefighter for the Gulfport Fire Department for many years. He shared many memories of his days playing softball. He was a faithful member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church where he spent many hours taking care of the lawn.  Mr. Lacy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially at their various sporting events.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 12, 2019, from 11 - 12:30 pm at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd., Long Beach.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 pm in the church.  Interment will be in Finley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to St. Thomas Life Teen Ministry.
