Gary Austin Clay, age 55, of Gulfport, died Monday, November 23, 2009 in Gulfport.
He was a graduate of Gulfport High School and attended Perkinston Junior College. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Gulfport and was a long-time volunteer and supporter of Feed My Sheep in Gulfport.
Gary was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was co-founder of Clay's Office Supply in Gulfport and later merged to become SunCoast/Clay's Business Supply where he continued to serve as a managing partner until his death. Gary was very devoted to his customers and often kept prayer requests in his notepad. Gary was full of life and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Jayne Clay; parents Guy and Virginia Clay; brother Guy (Susie) Clay, Jr.; children Nathan Clay, Brianne Clay, Tanya (Brett) Illing, Gretchen (Rick) Maxwell, Christy (Bill) Fulks, and Melissa (Richy) Tinsley; and ten grandchildren Morgan, Landon, Jaxin, Alyssa, Riley, James, Julie, Mckenzie, Kourtlyn and Alexandra; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thanks to the staff of Medical Oncology and Memorial Hospital 3-B for their compassionate care and Dr. Richard Tilley.
The funeral service will be 1:00 pm Friday at the First United Methodist Church, Gulfport where friends may visit from 11am - 1:00 pm.
Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
