Garvis J. Ladner, age 61 and a resident of Lizana, died on Friday, June 25, 2010, in Lizana.
Mr. Ladner was a native and lifelong resident of Lizana, a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Lizana, and was an avid hunter.
Mr. Ladner is preceded in death by his parents, Purvis & Permelia Cuevas Ladner and a sister, Mary Ann Deschamp.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jonnie Fay Ladner; his daughters, Nina Kay (Russel) Rodkey and Tammy Lynn (Rich) O'Connor, all of Lizana; his sisters, Genevia Necaise, Merle Dean (Jarvis) Cuevas all of Lizana and Eva Gay (Coy) McKay of Dedeaux; his brothers, Levell (Joan) Ladner of Pass Christian, Reginald (Verna Mae) Ladner of Lizana, Revenal (Peggy) Ladner of Dedeaux, Austin Ladner, Sr. of Lizana, Ernest (Gloria Ann) Ladner, and Jason Ladner all of Dedeaux and three grandchildren, Jordan Toups, Logan O'Connor, and Kira Hutchinson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010, from 6pm-10pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 49 North in Gulfport, with a Recitation of the Rosary to be held at 8pm.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, June 28, 2010, at 10am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Wolf River Cemetery.
