Garrett Darty

Garrett Scott Darty, age 24 of Long Beach, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020.

Affectionately known as “G-Baby” or “G-Man” to those closest to him, Garrett was a 2014 graduate of Long Beach High School. He was a former student at MGCCC with a certificate in HVAC. Garrett was employed at Bay Ice.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Desmond Walker and maternal grandmother, Adell “Nanny” Walker of Gulfport; his brother, Mason Darty of Long Beach; and his half-sister, Sara Radoncic Darty of Serbia.

Garrett is survived by his parents, Kim Darty (and her fiancé, Andy Turner) of Long Beach, Randy Darty (Patricia) of Lumberton; his sister, Shaylynn Darty (and fiancé Cody Singletary) of Pass Christian; his half siblings, Sean Dean and Anesa Darty of Serbia; his nephews, Landon, Brodie, Mason, and Drake; his paternal grandparents, James and Geraldine “Jerri” Lassiter of Saucier; and a large extended family. He also had many close friends that will always cherish their memories with him.

He will be fondly remembered for his funny jokes and contagious smile. Garrett was a “big teddy bear” and had a heart of gold.

The funeral service will be at 2 pm on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. Friends may visit from 12 pm - 2 pm. Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
