Galen Evans “Smoke” “Pops” Lechler, 86, born February 20, 1934, passed away on June 13, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bertha Lechler, and his siblings: Weltha (Clarence) Kline, John (Edna) R. Lechler, William (Gloria) Lechler, Walter (Jean) Lechler, Harold Lechler, Helen Lechler, Dorothy (Samuel) Burley, Nancy (Don) Turner, all of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and dear family friend Mary Stiger of Diamondhead, Mississippi.
Smoke is survived by his beloved, loving, and adoring wife of 66 years, Barbara Ann “Pudge” Coleman Lechler, Diamondhead, Mississippi; his son, Terry Evans (Candace) Lechler, Moss Point, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Virginia Downey Hunter, Williamsport, Pennsylvania; and a whole host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; adored best friends, Bill Stiger, John (Alisa) Cannon, Regina and Sarah Monica, and his daily coffee buddies from the Ship Store, Diamondhead, Mississippi.
He was known to many in his community and loved and looked forward to greeting every one of them any chance he had. He had a tremendous outlook and spirit and remained so until he departed this earth.
Donations in his memory may be made online to the American Cancer Society or Masonic Homes in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
A Christian memorial service will be held at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln-Delisle Rd, Pass Christian, Mississippi, on Thursday, June 18, 2020, sharing memories at 10:00, and the service at 11:00 with Father Paddy Mockler officiating.
