Fred Waltenburg, age 84, resident of Wiggins, died on Monday, January 18, 2010, in Hattiesburg.
Mr. Waltenburg was born in Port Huron MI to Christy and Lillian Waltenburg. He served in the Merchant Marines and the US Coast Guard during WWII. He retired from Dunn Paper Company. He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. He was a member of the VFW Post 4526 in Gulfport, the D""""Iberville Moose Lodge 332, and the American Legion Post 119 in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tom Waltenburg.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Waltenburg of Wiggins; daughters, Judy Dell of Winder, GA, Sandy Strausser (Dave) of Hodkinsville, KY, and Chris Dell (Mike) of Lauranceville, GA; stepsons, Jack Williams (Lisa) of Luzerne, MI, and Dan Williams (Bobbie) of Marine City, MI; stepdaughters, Sherren Young (Bob) of Ontario, Canada, and Linda Jones (Paul) of FL; sisters, Carol DeLong (Bob) of Port Huron, MI, and Ruth Cooper (Bob) of Salem, AR; brothers, Cliff Waltenburg of Kimball Township, MI, and Charles Waltenburg (Ann) of Boynton Beach, FL; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family.
RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
