Fred W. "Rosco" Scarborough, age 79, a life long resident of Pass Christian passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 in Gulfport.
Mr. Scarborough was a United States Marine (Jar Head) and proud of it from 1957-1960. Through his career he worked as a Longshoreman, Sheriff Deputy, and a longtime Fisherman. Prior to dedicating many years to the VFW organization. He was the Commander for 18 years and All American for 1 year for Post 5931 in Pass Christian. He was District 1 Sr. Vice, Jr. Vice, and Commander. He was the Department of MS Jr. Vice, Sr. Vice, and State Commander from 1996-1997. He was Chairman of various committees, elected Quarter Master for MS and State Adjutant for 2 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred W. Scarborough, Sr. and Mamie "Petie" Scarborough; brother, William "Bookie" Scarborough; sister, Beverly "Sis" Lee.
He is survived by wife, Catheleen Scarborough; children, Denice Perniciaro (Sammy), Tracy "Bo Bo" Scarborough, Brian Scarborough (Regina); sister, Catherine Randall; brother, Buddy Scarborough; 2 grandchildren, Rebecca Broussard and David Scarborough; 2 great-grandchildren, Creed and Tanleigh Broussard; step grandchildren, Dustin, Destany, and Jarren; step great-grandchildren, Mason, Brycee, and Blantyn.
A visitation will be held from 6:00PM till 9:00PM on Friday, November 2, 2018 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road, Pass Christian. A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the funeral home. A burial will follow the service at New DeLisle Cemetery.
