Franklin R. “Frank” Burrus, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William M. Burrus and Laura Burrus; a brother, William “Billy” Burrus; and a grandson, Christopher Ware.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Gina M. Burrus; his children, Tami Martin (Mike), Nancy Bennett (Andy), and Kristi Smith (T.J.); 2 grandchildren, Addison Mackenzie Smith and Marion Meadow Smith; and a great-grandson, Elijah Ware. Frank was a wonderful step-father and was loved deeply by his step-children, Troy Tabor (Melissa) and Tracy Rippy (Brian), as well as his step-grandchildren, Tanner, Landon, and Sara Tabor, and Morgan Rippy.
Mr. Burrus was a native of Moorhead, MS and was a longtime resident of Biloxi. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves and later the Mississippi Army National Guard. He was a member of the Mississippi City United Methodist Church. Frank was a loving and compassionate father who loved the Lord and his country. His gentle and humble ways were loved by anyone that come to know him.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Mississippi City United Methodist Church, 219 Courthouse Road, Gulfport, M S39507, of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 3, 2022, from 10 - 11 am at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
