Frank Ellis Pike, age 90, of Hattiesburg, MS formerly of Long Beach, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.V. and Ethel Pike; a brother, Leroy Pike; and a sister, Mary Macura.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Rosemary Pike of Hattiesburg; daughters, Pamela Carruba (John) of Long Beach, Karen Smitherman (Walter) of Hoover, AL, and Ellis Anne Smith of Hattiesburg; seven grandchildren, Ashlee Anderson, Suzanne Jones (Greg), Steven Smitherman, Jake Smith, Luke Smith, Kris Smith, and Kurt Smith; and one great grandson, Whitt Jones.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Pike was a member of Temple Baptist Church, Hattiesburg, MS and was a former member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Long Beach. He was a member of the Masonic Temple, Scottish Rite, Joppa Temple Shriners, and the Civitan Club.
Mr. Pike was a retired owner of C and D Auto Parts, Gulfport, MS.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach with a visitation for family and friends from 10:00 AM until the service. Burial with military honors will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens, Long Beach.
