Frank Nance

Frank Rob Nance, Jr, age 66, of Long Beach, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 in Gulfport.
He was born February 15, 1942, in Paris, Tennessee, to the late Margaret Wright-Nance and the late Frank Nance, Sr. and graduated from Grove High School 1960. He served in the U.S. Navy August of 1960 thru August of 1964.
In July 12, 1963 he married his soul mate, Linda Townley, at the First Baptist Church in Paris, Tennessee.
Mr. Nance went to auctioneer school at Reppert's Auctioneer School in Decatur, Indiana, and graduated Nov. 1964.
In Paris, TN, he was a Real Estate Broker, owned the Red Ball Realty and Auction Company, Russwood Superette, Little Charlie's Car Lot, and Mansard Island Resort.
In 1969, he and his brother, Billy Nance, owned Nance Brothers Auto Auction til 1983. They had an auction in Paris, Tennessee and one in Paducah, Kentucky.
In 1984, Frank moved his family to the Gulf Coast and settled in Long Beach, MS. He worked for various auto auctions throughout the southeast as an auctioneer. Frank was currently semi-retired working for Slidell Auto Auction in Slidell, Lousiana.
Mr. Nance was preceded in death by his wife Linda Nance, his parents Margaret Nance and Frank Nance, Sr and by his brother, Billy Nance.
He is survived by his daughters and their husbands Kelly and Paul van Hoek of Anchorage, Alaska; Kim and Matthew Irwin of Long Beach, Mississippi; Ashley and Teddy Johnson of Mobile, Alabama; Robin and Mark Mansur of Norman, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Cameron and Dillon van Hoek of Anchorage, Alaska; Olivia Johnson of Mobile, Alabama; and Zach Mansur of Norman, Oklahoma; his sister Gail Axley of Big Sandy, Tennessee and numerous cousins, neices, nephews and his aunt Betty Castle and her husband Cork in Joinerville, TX.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1 - 2 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. The funeral service wil be at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Long Beach City Cemetery.
