Frank “Bunk” Maples, age 79, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2022.
Frank was born August 7, 1943. He worked at Ingalls Shipyard for years. He and his wife, Sara, owned and operated Maples Custom Woodworks. They both loved working with each other. Besides loving to build furniture and cabinets he loved hunting and fishing. He was a lifelong resident of Vancleave where he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vancleave.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Virgie Fairley Maples; his sisters, Billie Lee Maples, Betty Tyndall, and Cathy Maples; his brother, Perry Mason Maples; his brother in laws, Randy Tyndall and Tom Slade. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sara Maples; his step sons, Gary (Tina Poulos) Foutz and Tommy (Penny) Foutz; his grandchildren, Sara Foutz, Morgan Foutz Titas and Ethan Foutz; his great grandchildren, Zelda and Liam; his sister, Gladys Maples Slade; his brother, William (Sarah) Maples; and his nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Dr. Andrew Peterson and the Staff of Merit Hospital in Biloxi, for their care and compassion to Frank and his family during this difficult time.
A visitation for friends will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Celebration of Life service at First Baptist Church of Vancleave.
