Frank C. Allen, Jr., age 75,
beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at his home in Pass Christian, Mississippi.
He touched the lives and hearts of many and will be sadly missed. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Frank C. Allen and Lucy Walters Allen, Frank was known for his determination and dedication but mainly for his countless acts of kindness and generosity.
Frank is survived by his wife, Cynthia Church Allen, his children, Frank C. Allen III and Stephenie Flynn Allen, Thomas C. Allen and Giselle Massoth Allen, Ann Allen Arceneaux and Graham Arceneaux , as well as his grandchildren, to whom he was devoted, Katherine and Frank C. Allen IV, Phoebe and Carter Allen, and Graham and Amelie Arceneaux.
Frank worked as a chemical
engineer before beginning his long legal career. A graduate of Tulane University School of Engineering and Tulane University School of Law, Frank was a former Partner and Special Counsel to Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carriere & Denegre, L.L.P.. With McDermott International, Inc., Frank served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, and later as Director of Risk Management. Following his retirement from McDermott, Frank joined the firm of Graham, Arceneaux & Allen, L.L.C.. Frank was a member of the Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas State Bars. He was also a member of the Maritime Law Association, the Stratford Club, and the Pickwick Club.
Frank was an avid sailor, leader, and tireless volunteer. He served as Commodore of the Pass Christian Yacht Club, the Bay Waveland Yacht Club, and the Gulf Yachting Association.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 1 p.m T Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, Bay. St. Louis, MS with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Donor Services, P.O.
