Mr. Francis """"Bubba"""" Fields, 73, of Gulfport, died Friday, May 9, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mr. Fields was an avid explorer of the ocean and loved to shrimp and fish. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of commerical fishing and heavy equipment construction businesses.
He was preceded in death by his father, L.T. Fields. Survivors include his wife, Loraine Houghton Fields of Gulfport; mother, Eula Nichols Fields; daughter, Anita Fields of Patterson, Louisana; two sons, Brian Fields and Glen Fields (Melinda); two step-daughters, Tammy Garrett (Lonnie) of Henderson, Kentucky, and Terri McCarter (Brian) of Sevierville, Tennessee; step-son, Tom Jones of Patterson; grandchildren, Taylor & Morgan Fields, Dustin Garrett, Daniel Thomas, Christopher Thomas, Lori Fields, Sarah Fields and Aubrey Garrett; two great-granddaughters; two sisters, JoAnn Compton of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Elaine McCullough of Baja, California; sisters-in-law, Helen Traxler of Clarksville, TN, Irene Smith of Olla, LA, and Nell Norwood (Rick) of Mansfield, LA; and brother-in-law, J.D. """"DJ"""" Houghton (Jan) of Patterson. He is also survived by James Houghton and Troy Houghton.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held today, May 11, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.
