Francis (Frank) Bernard Anderson, age 74 of Gulfport died February 12, 2011, after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. His faith, courage and determination will be remembered.
He was born and raised in New York City, but lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for 50 years. He was of Catholic faith. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years receiving electronics training at Keesler AFB in Biloxi. He retired from Civil Service after 30 years with the 1839 Engineering, A & E Maintance group at Keesler. He took great joy in a career that allowed him to travel the world. He was a talented artist and especially enjoyed painting portraits using oils, watercolors and pastels. He was a private person and loved his family.
He is mourned by his wife of 52 years, Bo Mena Powell Anderson; a daughter, Susan Williams, and her fianceÌ, Kurt Garrity; a son, Frank M. Anderson, and daughter-in-law, Donna T. Anderson; and two granddaughters, Jaclyn Bo Williams and Rachel Nicole Anderson, all of Gulfport; two sisters, Letitia Liamero, Texas, and Mary Mitchell, Arizona; three brothers-in-law, Hermance Butcher, New York, Raymond Powell (Mary) Tennessee, and Jack O. Powell, Gulfport; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Eve; his parents Frank and Margaret Anderson; sister, Margaret Butcher; and two nephews, Michael Liamero and Stephen Butcher, all of New York

A private service will be held for his family. Visitors are welcome to call on the family on Saturday, February 19, 2011, between the hours of 2:00-4:00 pm at his home.
