Frances Spedale Pellegrini, age 82 and a resident of Diamondhead, died on Sunday, May 3, 2009 in Diamondhead.
Mrs. Pellegrini was a native of New Orleans, LA and had been a resident of Diamondhead, MS for the past 29 years.
She was a graduate of New Orleans Charity Hospital School of Nursing, and served as an OB/GYN Nurse at Mercy Hospital in New Orleans. She was owner/operator of a corset and surgical supply shop adjacent to Touro Infirmary in New Orleans for 17 years.
Upon relocation to Diamondhead, she renewed her nursing license and served as an emergency room nurse at Hancock Medical Center in Bay St. Louis for 10 years. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Kiln and was an avid golfer, quilter, and seamstress.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Petrina Rebaudo Spedale; her brother, Phillip Spedale and her son-in-law, Gilbert Reyna, Jr..
Mrs. Pellegrini is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Peter M. Pellegrini, Sr. of Diamondhead; her children, Anne Pellegrini of Diamondhead, Pat Reyna of Houston, TX, and Peter Pellegrini, Jr.; her sister, Conchetta Champagne of Slidell, LA; her step-grandchildren, Marissa Reyna and Austin Reyna both of Houston, and her dearest friend, Elizabeth Spindel of Ft. Worth, TX.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 8, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, where friends may visit thirty minutes prior to the service. A private burial will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery.
