Floyd James Goughenour,74, gracefully and peacefully passed away at his home in Gulfport. He is finally gone home to celebrate his new life with our Heavenly Father and the love of his life, his wife Mary.
He proudly served his country in the Air force and from there he retired from Stennis Space Center after 33 years of service.
He enjoyed his retirement days serving the Lord, community, and those in need of help. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Bay St. Louis, Scottish Rite, and Shriner. Floyd was a deacon and active member of First Baptist Church of Lyman and sang in the choir.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Stevenson the love of his life, Mary Maude Harrison Goughenour; a sister Margaret Marie Goughenour; brothers, David Goughenour, Burl Goughenour, Glenn Goughenour and Edwin Goughenour; son, John E. Necaise. He is survived by his sons, Hollis Goughenour, Thomas Goughenour and Billy Necaise; daughters, Trish Kennedy Edwards, Jeannine Rider, Lisa McTaggart, and Maureen Stewart; grandchildren, Loreal and Skyla McTaggart, Patricia Hunt, Chris Ferell, John David Ferrell, Karl Hager, Jr., Kris Stewart, Byron, Chad, and Walley Necaise; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Aaron Stewart, Justin Hunt, and Peyton Ferrell; and a special nephew, James M. Goughenour.
Floyd was first and foremost a man of God, a loyal devoted husband, and wonderful father. He will be truly missed by his friends and family.
Many, many thanks to Dr. Davidson and Dr. Tilley and their staff for all of their years of devotion and care of Floyd.
Visitation will be at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2008. The funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
