Floyd James Babin

Mr. Floyd James Babin, Sr., age 78, of Lizana, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011.
Mr. Babin was born to Phillip Babin, Sr. and Gracie Lizana Babin. He was a lifelong resident of Harrison County and worked for 37 years as a machinist at Struthers. Family time was important to him, and he enjoyed camping, woodworking, and making cast nets. He was good with his hands, growing huge gardens and helping his family build their homes. He was a hardworker, showing his family that hard work doesn't hurt. He also taught his family that, ""In giving, we do receive.""
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 43 years, Helena Cuevas Babin; father-in-law, Provis J. Cuevas; mother-in-law, Belena Ladner Cuevas; brother-in-law, Purvey Cuevas; and daughter-in-law, Jackie Johnson Babin.
He is survived by his son, Floyd Babin, Jr., and daughter, Delena Jones (Larry); grandchildren, Aundrea (Anthony) Ladner, Dustin James Babin, Danielle Steiner, Dillon Steiner, Sabrina Jones, and Sarah Jones; great grandchildren, Brecen, Brylen, and Brenlen James; siblings, Phillip (Meretta) Babin, Jr., Emile (Darlene) Babin, Harry (Relea) Babin, and Shirley (Hollis) Moran; brothers-in-law, Jarvis (Merle Dean) Cuevas, Preston (Judy) Cuevas, Bernell (Jeraldine) Cuevas, Prentiss (Debbie) Cuevas, Darcy (Kathy) Cuevas; sister-in-law, Barbra Cuevas; Godchild, Jeffery James Cuevas; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, from 6-9 pm. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dedeaux, at 3 pm. Friends may visit from 10am-3pm.
Burial will follow at Wolf River Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a specail thanks to the staff at Lakeview Nursing Ceneter for their love and care they showed to Mr. Babin and the family. For this, we give thanks. Amen.
