Ferdinand "Flick" Anthony Pecoul, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.
He was the beloved husband of Linda Salter Pecoul for 62 years and a loving father to Renee Pecoul (Richard) Scott of Los Angeles, CA and Rebekah Pecoul Fendlason of Purcellville, VA. Mr. Pecoul was the grandfather of Daniel Ferdinand Fendlason of Herndon, VA and Matthew Hunter Sokol of Los Angeles, CA. He was the son of the late Ferdinand Anthony Pecoul and Eldora Grant Pecoul and is also survived by two sisters, Martha Pecoul (Raymond) Sinopoli and Catherine Pecoul (Wayne) Davis and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lucy Pecoul Dessommes, Joseph Pecoul, Betty Pecoul Taylor, Monroe Cliburn, and his son-in-law, Dan Fendlason.
Flick was 86 years of age and was raised in Gulfport, MS. He served in the Army during the Korean War and later graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was employed for 34 years in New Orleans, LA as an exploration geophysicist for British Petroleum (Amoco), and was retired, and later employed as a geophysical consultant in Houston. TX
Flick was a member of Southeastern Geophysical Society. He was an avid fisherman and several articles have been written on him for his knowledge and expertise of fishing the gulf waters both in Louisiana and Mississippi. He was also a wood worker who designed and made furniture and turned bowls from exotic woods. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Long Beach, MS.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 15, 2017, from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
