Felix Herring

Felix Ladell Herring, age 76 of Picayune, Mississippi, passed away at his home on July 21, 2018.
Prior to college, Felix was an air traffic controller for the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. When Felix was a young man, he was one of the first to barefoot waterski. He also found joy in playing football, baseball and track. He was also a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He studied at The University of Miami, where he received his Bachelor degree in finance.
As he got older he enjoyed golfing, cooking "Mustard Charlie," reading and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Felix retired working with his brother, Dub, as a general manager of Paw Paw's Campers & RV's.
Felix was a loving husband to Irene M. Herring, a devoted father to Christine Herring-Cressey and James E. Herring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Inez Taylor Herring and William Bruce Herring; and his sisters, Sue Parks and Alice Andrews.
He was a role model for his grandchildren, Andrew S. Martinez, Victoria K. Martinez, Samantha G. Woodward, Rebecca L. Woodward and Jacob J. F. Herring.  He was a caring father-in-law to Warren A. Cressey II and Christine N. Herring. Felix also left behind his brother, William Bruce (Dub) Herring II; and his sisters, Ada King and Floyce Rose.
Felix was a man who genuinely loved his family and he always filled a room with laughter.  His smile and his faith in the Lord carried him through a lot with his health tribulations.  He will always be a ray of sunshine.
Friends are invited to join the family for the funeral service at 12:00 PM, Thursday, July 26, with a visitation from 10:30 AM until the service at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS.  Burial with military honors will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
