Fay Suber Maxwell, age 86, a lifetime resident of Long Beach, Mississippi, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
Fay was a prominent member of the Central Heirs Quartet, and her passion was playing the piano. Many people have had the pleasure of listening to her beautiful southern gospel music at different churches throughout the years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Long Beach. She also had a big heart for animals while working for Dr. Jingles Veterinary Clinic. She also worked at Garden Park Medical Center in admissions.
Fay was preceded in death by her parents, Mag and Doc Woodcock of Long Beach; son, Lester Suber; her husband, Derward Suber; and 11 siblings.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Dennis Maxwell; her sons, Darrell Suber (Deanna) and Gravis Suber (Tracey); step-daughter, Angela Gattis (Eddie); and step-son, Marc Maxwell (Michelle). She also leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Friends are invited to join the family for visitation and services on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, MS. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Fay will be laid to rest in Allen Cemetery in Long Beach.
In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Harrison County Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice and the entire staff, with a special thanks to Stephanie with Home Heathcare and her nurse, Elaine, who took superior care in Fay's final days.
